Can I get face-frame cabinetry on my Lucvaa project?

Yes, on a per-project basis. Lucvaa builds true face-frame cabinetry mainly for smaller units: bathroom vanities, wall cabinets, and built-in display pieces. We don’t build it for full kitchen layouts, because frameless gives you noticeably more usable storage and far more freedom in the design. If you’re after the face-frame look on a larger project, your designer will most likely steer you toward Faux Frame, which reproduces the appearance on a frameless box. That call gets made together during design development, based on the cabinet itself, the style of the room, and how closely anyone will actually be looking at it.

Yes. The Lucvaa showroom at 31 Racine Road in Etobicoke, Toronto has our full range of materials, finishes, and hardware mounted on working cabinetry, so you can open a drawer, run your hand across a door, and compare finishes side by side under the same light. Custom colours and special finishes get made up as physical samples for you to sign off on before the design is finalized. Showroom consultations are free. Yes, and we do it constantly. Lucvaa builds from third-party architectural and interior design drawings on both residential and multi-residential work, collaborating with your design team to turn creative intent into something that can actually be manufactured. Our technical team reviews every drawing set for production feasibility before we quote, so constructibility problems surface early rather than on installation day.

There’s a short window between sign-off and the start of production where minor adjustments are sometimes possible. Once cutting begins, changes get difficult, and they cost time and money. That’s why the Lucvaa sign-off stage is deliberately slow: your designer takes you through the final 3D renderings and elevation drawings, dimension by dimension, and nothing moves to production until you’re confident in every measurement, finish, and accessory.

No. Consultations at Lucvaa are free. We’ll meet at the Etobicoke showroom, visit your site, and produce physical samples, all before you’ve paid anything. The drawings themselves are Lucvaa’s intellectual property and aren’t released electronically until an order is placed and the 50% deposit is in. If you want to review the drawings before committing, there’s an optional 10% design deposit, calculated on your most recent quote. It’s non-refundable, but it’s credited in full toward your order deposit when the project goes ahead.

No. Lucvaa has in-house cabinetry designers who can take a project from the first conversation through 3D renderings to production-ready shop drawings. If you’re already working with an interior designer or architect, we’ll work alongside them: they lead the overall direction, we contribute the manufacturing knowledge and cabinet-specific detailing. Both routes work equally well.

Yes. 3D renderings and elevation drawings are included in every Lucvaa project. You’ll see your kitchen, vanity, or built-ins in context before anything is cut, with the actual materials, finishes, hardware, and proportions represented at full scale. We revise the renderings with you until the design is right.

Lucvaa covers the full residential range: custom kitchens, bathroom vanities, walk-in and reach-in closets, home offices, laundry rooms, mudrooms, entertainment walls, and built-in storage. A lot of our Toronto and Ontario projects bundle several rooms into one package, which keeps finishes, hardware, and detailing consistent from the kitchen through to the mudroom.

Frameless, also called European-style, is the standard construction across Lucvaa kitchens, closets, built-ins, and most larger designs. It gives you more usable interior space, cleaner sightlines, and more design flexibility than traditional face-frame. For clients who want the framed look, we offer Faux Frame, which uses posts, risers, and fillers to create the appearance of a face frame on a frameless box. The one visible difference is a subtle seam where the frame components meet; most people stop noticing it within a few days. True face-frame construction is available on a per-project basis for smaller pieces like vanities, wall cabinets, and display units, though not for full kitchen layouts.

The Lucvaa design process runs in five stages. First, a discovery consultation to understand your space, scope, and budget. Then an on-site measure. Then design development, where the 3D renderings and elevations take shape. Then material, finish, and hardware selection. Finally, a signed-off quote against verified site measurements. Most residential projects run 3 to 6 weeks from first consultation to production sign-off. Complex renovations, heritage homes, and multi-room packages can stretch to 6 to 12 weeks.

Unlimited. Your Lucvaa designer keeps refining the layout, materials, and details until the plan is right. There’s no revision count and no per-revision charge. Once the design is signed off and the order is placed, changes get much harder, so it’s worth using that latitude before sign-off rather than after.

The first meeting is a conversation, not a sales pitch. Your Lucvaa designer looks at the space, asks how you actually live in it, and talks through scope, budget, and timeline before setting out how our process works. In the showroom you’ll also get hands-on with materials and working hardware: BLUM drawer systems, soft-close mechanisms, corner storage. If there’s time, we’ll take you onto the floor of our Etobicoke factory so you can see how your cabinets will be made. Consultations are free.

Are Lucvaa cabinets made with solid wood or engineered materials?

Mostly engineered. Lucvaa cabinet boxes use high-grade particleboard and plywood substrates, which hold their shape better than solid wood in Canadian homes that swing between dry winter heat and humid summers. Solid wood still has its place: we use it for specific door profiles and finishes where the grain and the feel matter, typically shaker doors, stained finishes, and traditional or transitional kitchens.

Yes. Lucvaa buys from suppliers that meet North American emissions and environmental standards, including CARB Phase 2 compliant substrates and low-VOC finishes. Our hardware partners, BLUM in Austria among them, hold their own environmental certifications. If your project is chasing LEED, Passive House, or another green certification, tell your designer early. We can confirm specific certifications, including FSC chain-of-custody where it’s available, during the design phase.

Yes. Lucvaa won’t build with substrates or finishes that don’t meet our durability and emissions standards, and we’ve dropped hardware lines that performed badly in the field. If something in your specification isn’t going to hold up, your designer will say so and put a better-performing alternative in front of you. This comes up most often with high-moisture areas, heavy-use family kitchens, and multi-residential projects where we’re carrying a warranty obligation for years afterward.

Usually, yes. The Lucvaa painted MDF program matches to Benjamin Moore, Sherwin-Williams, Farrow & Ball, and other premium paint palettes, and our standard library already runs to hundreds of TFL, laminate, and veneer options. For wood stains, we can match a sample from another cabinet shop or any physical reference you bring us. The key word there is physical. Every custom match is made up as a sample for your sign-off before production.

Yes. Lucvaa cabinetry carries a one-year warranty on materials and workmanship. The full terms come with your project documentation and vary somewhat by material, finish, and application (residential, multi-residential, or commercial). Door and drawer hardware from BLUM and the other premium European manufacturers we use carries longer manufacturer warranties of its own, which pass through to you.

Lucvaa cabinet doors are available in TFL (thermally fused laminate), high-pressure laminate, painted MDF, stained wood veneer, thermofoil, and premium slab materials including acrylic and matte composites. Door profiles such as shaker, slab, raised-panel, and beadboard are available across most of those materials. Specialty doors including smoked glass, fluted glass, and metal-clad can be quoted project by project.

Lucvaa cabinet boxes are built from engineered wood substrates, mainly particleboard and plywood. Doors and panels come in TFL (thermally fused laminate), high-pressure laminate, painted MDF, stained veneer, thermofoil, and premium slab materials. We match the material to the job rather than defaulting to one: plywood and solid wood where moisture is a factor, TFL for kitchens that take a beating, painted MDF for shaker and traditional work, slab materials for modern, minimal designs.

Plywood is layered veneers cross-grained for strength, better screw-holding, and better moisture resistance, which makes it the Lucvaa default for bathrooms, laundry rooms, and anywhere humidity stays high. Particleboard is dimensionally more stable through humidity swings and costs less, which is why it’s the standard for most modern cabinetry. Neither one is the cheap option and neither is universally better. Each wins in different applications, and Lucvaa has built thousands of projects in both.

TFL, or thermally fused laminate. It shrugs off scratches, moisture, heat, and daily wear better than paint or stain, and it holds its appearance for decades without recoating, which is why Lucvaa specifies it so often for family kitchens. If you want the look of paint, painted MDF is available and plenty of families choose it. Just go in knowing the trade-off in wear resistance, and ask your designer about care requirements before you commit.

For bathrooms, laundry rooms, mudrooms, and cottage or lakeside properties, Lucvaa recommends plywood boxes with solid wood, TFL, or laminate doors. Plywood resists swelling and warping better than particleboard when humidity stays high for long stretches. Mixing substrates within one project is common and perfectly sensible: particleboard through the main kitchen, plywood in the adjacent bathroom and laundry.

Where are Lucvaa cabinets manufactured?

Lucvaa cabinets are manufactured at our own facility at 31 Racine Road in Etobicoke, Ontario. We don’t outsource production, drop-ship from offshore factories, or rebrand someone else’s cabinets. Every project is designed, cut, assembled, and finished on our own line by our own people, which is what lets us control quality, lead times, and how far we can customize.

Yes. Lucvaa is Canadian-owned, Canadian-operated, and privately held, and has been manufacturing custom cabinetry in Etobicoke, Ontario since 2007. Design, manufacturing, finishing, and project management all run out of our Ontario facility.

Lucvaa sources globally and builds locally. Substrates, meaning particleboard, plywood, and MDF, come from Canadian and North American mills. Premium hardware, including BLUM hinges, drawer systems, and lift mechanisms, is made in Austria. Our budget-friendly hardware comes through Canadian distributors including Richelieu, Marathon, and Berenson, covering drawer slides (King Slide, Accuride), hinges, EuroFit accessories, and decorative handles, pulls, and knobs. The cabinetry itself is designed, cut, assembled, and finished in Etobicoke, Ontario.

Because different regions are genuinely better at different things. Canada and North America lead in engineered wood substrates and panels. Europe sets the standard in cabinet hardware, where BLUM, Hettich, and their peers are the benchmark everyone else is measured against. Asia produces budget hardware and decorative components that let Lucvaa hit accessible price points without cutting into build quality. Sourcing globally and manufacturing locally means every part of your cabinet comes from wherever that part is made best.

Yes. BLUM hardware, made in Austria, has been the Lucvaa standard across our product line for over a decade: hinges, drawer systems including LEGRABOX and TANDEMBOX, and AVENTOS lift mechanisms, in both our standard and premium packages. It’s a deliberate choice rather than a marketing one, because BLUM sets the durability and engineering benchmark the rest of the industry works against.

Made in Canada, at the Lucvaa facility in Etobicoke, Ontario. The raw materials and hardware come from wherever the best version of that component is made: North American substrates, European premium hardware such as BLUM, and budget hardware from Asia purchased through Canadian distributors. Assembly and finishing happen here, so every cabinet that leaves our building is Canadian-made.

Yes. Design, manufacturing, finishing, and project management all happen at the Lucvaa facility in Etobicoke, Ontario. We import certain components because they outperform or complement the domestic options in their category, but the cabinetry itself is built in Canada by Canadian workers.

It puts the schedule in our hands. Lucvaa residential projects typically take 6 to 8 weeks in production, against the 12 to 20+ weeks that’s common for fully imported cabinetry. We also skip the ocean freight delays, port congestion, customs holds, and tariff swings that come with overseas manufacturing, which matters most on tight renovation schedules and US-bound orders.

Country of origin alone doesn’t tell you much; the manufacturer and the components do. What Lucvaa brings is Canadian manufacturing standards, European premium hardware from BLUM, and quality-graded substrates from leading North American mills. The other advantage is accountability, because a Canadian-made cabinet comes with Canadian warranty standards, a service team you can actually reach, and Canadian consumer protections behind it.

Lucvaa watches cross-border trade conditions closely and works with our US dealers to keep any tariff exposure transparent rather than buried in a price. Dealer pricing reflects current conditions, and because we control our own production we can adapt sourcing and logistics if those conditions shift. That flexibility is a large part of why US dealers work with an established Canadian manufacturer instead of an offshore supplier carrying its own duty and freight risk.

Are LED lights standard or an upgrade?

An upgrade. Under-cabinet, in-cabinet, toe-kick, and in-drawer LED lighting are all available from Lucvaa, but none of it is included by default. Lighting is much easier to do well when it’s designed in early, while wiring runs, transformer locations, and switching can still be integrated into the cabinetry cleanly. If it’s on your list, mention it at the first consultation rather than at sign-off.

Yes, and it’s a big part of what Lucvaa does, given how much of our work is in Toronto condos. Full-height pull-out pantries, integrated appliance panels, dual-purpose island storage, compact corner systems, and slim-line drawer organizers are all engineered to get usable storage out of a tight footprint.

Yes, in several configurations: full-height single and double pull-outs, larder units with internal shelving, and integrated broom and appliance cabinets. Lucvaa pull-outs run on BLUM or comparable premium hardware rated to carry a fully loaded pantry, which is the part cheaper systems get wrong.

Yes, in every cabinet Lucvaa builds. Standard BLUM hinges, drawer systems, and lift mechanisms are included at no upgrade cost. Premium BLUM tiers such as LEGRABOX, AVENTOS, and SERVO-DRIVE are available for clients who want a specific system.

It ranges widely. LED lighting might add a few hundred dollars; a full package of pull-out organizers, an integrated waste system, and premium BLUM tiers can add several thousand. Every Lucvaa quote itemizes this line by line, so you can see exactly what each accessory costs and cut or add scope before you sign off.

All the common ones: Lazy Susans, LeMans swing-out systems, Magic Corner pull-outs, blind-corner drawer systems, and diagonal corner cabinets. Which one suits you depends on your layout, what you plan to store in that corner, and how far you want to be reaching. Your Lucvaa designer will recommend one once the layout is settled.

Lucvaa offers pull-out pantries, corner storage systems, LED lighting, drawer organizers (spice racks, tray dividers, cutlery inserts), pull-out waste and recycling systems, integrated appliance panels, and premium BLUM hardware tiers. Soft-close is already standard, so it isn’t on the upgrade list. Every addition is itemized separately in your quote.

Soft-close uses hydraulic dampers to stop doors and drawers from slamming, which makes them quieter and easier on the cabinet over its life. At Lucvaa it’s standard on every door and every drawer we build, at no additional cost. It isn’t an upgrade line on our quotes.

Spice racks, tray dividers, cutlery organizers, deep-drawer pot and pan systems, plate dividers, appliance garages, and custom-sized inserts. Lucvaa inserts are cut to your specific drawer dimensions rather than pulled off a shelf, so you don’t lose usable space on either side. Most can be specified in the original design or retrofitted to existing Lucvaa cabinetry later.

Lucvaa offers multi-bin pull-outs in dual, triple, and quad-bin configurations, sized to whatever your municipality asks you to separate. Touch-free automatic-opening systems are also available, worth a look for accessibility, or simply for the times your hands are full or messy.

Do I need to be home during delivery and installation?

Not for the whole thing, but we’d recommend being there for the delivery walk-through and the start of installation. The Lucvaa Customer Care team confirms scheduling and site access ahead of time, including parking, elevator booking if you’re in a condo, and any building-management approvals that need to be in place.

Lucvaa installs directly across the Greater Toronto Area, Hamilton, and the Niagara region. Outside that core area, installation runs through our partner installer network or your own general contractor. Either way, your Lucvaa project manager oversees it, so the cabinetry goes in to our specifications and our warranty stands behind it.

No. Lucvaa doesn’t do cabinetry removal or disposal. In practice most general contractors fold demolition into their renovation scope, and a lot of homeowners resell their old cabinetry through Habitat for Humanity ReStore or Facebook Marketplace rather than sending it to landfill. If you need a demolition contractor, your designer can point you to one we’ve worked with.

Three to five days on site for most residential kitchens, depending on scope, site conditions, and how the other trades are running. Full-home packages covering kitchen, bathrooms, closets, and laundry usually take 7 to 14 days. Lucvaa schedules around your other trades, particularly countertop templating, plumbing rough-ins, and electrical.

One year on materials and workmanship from the date of installation, covering manufacturing defects, finish issues, and hardware function under normal residential use. The everyday things, such as a door out of alignment, a drawer that needs adjusting, or a finish touch-up, are handled directly by Lucvaa Customer Care at (416) 745-4100. BLUM and our other premium hardware suppliers carry longer warranties of their own that pass through to you. Full terms come with your project documentation.

Your cabinets arrive on a scheduled Lucvaa truck, get unloaded and staged somewhere on site you’ve agreed in advance, and are inspected before installation starts. For most residential projects it’s a half-day. Larger multi-room projects can come all at once or be split across several days to match how ready the site is, which is usually how we handle staged renovations and multi-residential builds.

It’s rare, because Lucvaa works from detailed on-site measurements and production drawings rather than the architect’s plan alone. When it does happen, we fix it: modified on site where that’s possible, or remade and reinstalled at no cost to you. Remakes are scheduled within one to two weeks of the issue being identified, and your project manager keeps you posted the whole way.

Every Lucvaa cabinet is inspected at delivery and again before installation, so damage usually gets caught before you see it. Anything we find is documented immediately and the replacement parts are manufactured and shipped on an expedited schedule. We build buffer into project timelines for exactly this, and Customer Care stays in contact with our delivery and installation teams to keep the rest of the job moving.

Six to ten weeks for Lucvaa residential projects in Ontario, covering manufacturing, delivery, and installation. US dealer orders run 8 to 12 weeks. Complexity, finish lead times, and site readiness all move those windows, and a specialty finish or a site that isn’t ready for cabinets is the usual reason a project sits at the long end. Multi-residential and builder projects work to their own schedules, set against the construction calendar.

Your Lucvaa project manager, working through your general contractor or project lead. The point is sequencing: countertop templating can’t happen before the boxes are in, plumbing and electrical rough-ins have to be right before cabinets go over them, and appliances land last. If you don’t have a general contractor, your project manager will lay out a workflow and can recommend trades we’ve worked with.

How much does a custom kitchen cost in Toronto?

Every Lucvaa kitchen is priced individually because costs depend on room size, layout, materials, hardware package, and the number of accessories you specify. Most Lucvaa kitchen cabinetry projects fall between $25,000 and $80,000 installed, with a typical mid-range project around $40,000. Custom cabinetry from a manufacturer that builds in-house often costs less than people expect because there’s no middleman markup between design and production. Every consultation starts with a budget conversation, so we build the design around what you want to spend. We itemize your quote so you can see where each dollar went. Size and layout first, then material and finish choices, the hardware package, accessory upgrades, integrated appliance panels, and installation scope. One thing that catches people off guard: a cabinet full of drawers costs considerably more than the same cabinet with doors and a shelf, because you’re paying for the drawer boxes and runners on top of the cabinet itself. Every Lucvaa quote is itemized, so if a number needs to come down, you can see precisely which choices to revisit.

Yes, and it’s one of the more useful things about working with a manufacturer directly. The same layout can be quoted with entry-tier finishes and standard hardware, or built up with premium TFLs, painted MDF, upgraded BLUM systems, and full organizer packages. Because every Lucvaa kitchen is made to order, there’s almost always a version of the design you love that fits the budget you have, and your designer will show you what each step up or down actually costs.

Two payments. 50% on order placement, along with signed drawings and approved samples, and the remaining 50% before or at delivery. If you paid a Lucvaa design deposit earlier in the process, it’s credited in full against the 50% order deposit.

Lucvaa drawings are our intellectual property, and we don’t release them until an order is placed and the deposit is received. If you want to review the drawings before ordering, you can pay a 10% design deposit calculated on your most recent quotation, and we’ll release them. Lucvaa doesn’t currently offer in-house financing or payment plans. Our terms are 50% on order and 50% before delivery. Many major credit cards run their own installment programs, and that’s the route most clients take. If you have a specific payment structure in mind, raise it with your project consultant during quoting and we’ll see what we can do within our standard terms.

Can Lucvaa build to our architect's specifications or provide its own designs?

Both. Lucvaa routinely builds to architect and interior design specifications on multi-residential and custom-home work, dealing directly with your design team on shop drawings and value engineering. If you’d rather outsource the cabinetry design scope entirely, our in-house multi-residential team can develop suite-by-suite layouts from your unit floorplans.

Yes. Phased work is routine for Lucvaa. Production, delivery, and installation are scheduled against each phase’s construction timeline, and we hold your specification on file so building four matches building one in material, hardware, and finish even if the phases are years apart.

Lucvaa supplies the full in-suite package: kitchens, bathroom vanities, walk-in and reach-in closets, laundry rooms, and other built-ins. Running the whole suite through one manufacturer takes a significant amount of procurement and coordination work out of your GC’s schedule, and it guarantees the finishes match from room to room.

Yes. Multi-residential is one of the pillars of the Lucvaa business, not a sideline. We have a dedicated team for developer specifications, procurement workflows, and delivery and installation logistics, working with condo developers, low-rise and mid-rise builders, townhouse developers, and custom-home builders across Ontario. Projects have run from 30-unit communities to 600-unit towers.

Lucvaa multi-residential project managers work directly with your GC on delivery scheduling, installation sequencing, and trade coordination around countertop templating, electrical, and plumbing. We align to your construction schedule rather than asking your trades to align to ours, so production and shipping batches are built around your suite turnover plan.

Lucvaa builder and developer pricing is built off project specifications rather than retail rates, with volume, standardized unit types, and phased production all feeding into the per-unit number. Our multi-residential team works directly with your cost consultant or procurement lead to build accurate per-unit pricing, including allowances for purchaser upgrades, suite-type variations, and amenity-space cabinetry.

Condo towers, low-rise and mid-rise developments, townhouse communities, and custom-home builder projects, all across Ontario. Lucvaa volumes have run from boutique 30-unit townhome communities up to 600-unit condo towers. We’re set up to flex at both ends, because capacity adapts to project size and to schedule changes, which on a live construction site is the part that actually matters.

For mid-sized projects, plan on roughly 12 to 20 weeks of production once specifications are signed off. The variables are unit complexity, how quickly specs get finalized, and phasing. Larger or phased projects are produced in batches against your construction timeline, and later phases usually move faster, because once the specification is locked and set up on the Lucvaa line, incremental lead times shorten.

Lucvaa has delivered projects from 30 units to 600+. Our line averages about 75 kitchens a week and scales to a peak of 200+ kitchens a week with scheduled production planning. On phased developments, production batches are locked against your construction calendar, so each phase gets its cabinetry when those suites are actually ready to receive it.

Where are Lucvaa's showrooms?

Lucvaa has three showrooms in Ontario. The flagship is at 31 Racine Road in Etobicoke, Toronto, attached to the factory, so you can see the cabinetry and the production line in one visit. Lucvaa of Halton, in Burlington, serves the Halton and Niagara regions. Lucvaa of South Simcoe, in Alliston, serves South Simcoe County and the surrounding area, and that location is independently owned and operated by our authorized dealer.

Not directly to homeowners. Every Lucvaa sale in the US goes through one of our partner dealer showrooms, which handle local design, sales, project management, and installation. You get local support and someone in your own time zone, and your cabinetry is still manufactured at our facility in Etobicoke, Ontario.

Yes. Lucvaa works throughout Niagara, Hamilton, the 400 and 401 corridors, the Kawarthas, and Eastern Ontario including Peterborough, Kingston, and Ottawa. Installation is handled by our own crews across the GTA, Hamilton, and Niagara; further out, we coordinate with partner installers we know or with your own contractor. Design consultations happen in person where we can travel, and virtually anywhere in Ontario.

Lucvaa pairs you with a regional partner who can meet you in person where one is available, and couriers physical material samples to you for review. Where there’s no local designer, we run the design meetings virtually. Site measurements are taken either by our own staff on a scheduled trip, by a partner contractor, or by you with our guidance, and we’ll send the measuring instructions and check your numbers before anything is cut.

Anywhere in Ontario, from the Lucvaa facility in Etobicoke. Beyond about 200 km from the shop, delivery is handled by partner teams who specialize in cabinetry transport, and freight appears as its own line on your quote rather than being folded invisibly into the cabinet price. We’ve delivered to Kingston, Ottawa, and the Kawarthas, and into the United States through our dealer network.

Freight is the only real difference, and it appears as a stated line on your Lucvaa quote rather than a hidden markup, usually a small fraction of the total project. Clients outside the GTA often find the overall value works out comparable to or better than a local dealer who is sourcing cabinets from somewhere else anyway, once you compare manufacturing quality, hardware specification, and warranty terms.

Lucvaa delivers and installs across all of Ontario, from Niagara through the Greater Toronto Area and along the 401 corridor to Ottawa, out of our manufacturing facility in Etobicoke. In the United States, our cabinetry is sold and installed through authorized dealer showrooms, currently in New Jersey and Florida, with more East Coast dealers being added.

Does the Lucvaa warranty transfer if I sell my home?

The Lucvaa one-year warranty covers the original purchaser and doesn’t transfer automatically. If you’re selling and want to assign the remaining period to the buyer, contact Customer Care at (416) 745-4100 with the sale details before closing and we’ll document the transfer where we can. The pass-through warranties on BLUM hardware and other premium components have their own transfer terms, set by those manufacturers.

Send photos in that first message if you can, because it’s the fastest way for us to assess the issue and send the right person out. We’ll come back with next steps, which normally means a service appointment inside the GTA, or coordination through our partner installer network if you’re further out.

Within the GTA we generally book service visits within one to two weeks. Outside the GTA, service is arranged through our partner installer network or your original general contractor.

For one year from installation. Door and drawer alignment, hardware tweaks, and minor finish touch-ups are all covered in that window, and Lucvaa Customer Care handles those visits at no cost to you. After the year is up, service is available on a fee-for-service basis, at an hourly rate, with any parts or finishes quoted separately.

One year on materials and workmanship from the date of installation. The Lucvaa warranty covers manufacturing defects, finish issues under normal residential use, hardware function, and installation workmanship. Door and drawer hardware from BLUM and the other premium European manufacturers we use carries longer manufacturer warranties that pass through to you. Full terms, including the variations that apply to multi-residential and commercial work, come with your project documentation at order placement.

The Lucvaa warranty doesn’t cover damage from misuse, accidents, or abuse; alterations made after installation by someone else; normal wear and tear; water damage from a plumbing leak that isn’t down to our workmanship; or finish damage from prolonged direct sunlight, harsh chemicals, or cleaning products we don’t recommend. The full exclusion list is in your project documentation. If you aren’t sure whether something is covered, call us before assuming it isn’t. We’d much rather take a look.

Can I refinish or repaint my Lucvaa cabinets later?

It depends on the material. Painted MDF doors can generally be repainted with proper surface preparation. Stained wood and veneer can sometimes be re-stained or refinished, depending on the original finish and how it’s aged. TFL, laminate, thermofoil, and acrylic slab doors can’t be refinished in place, but they can be replaced with new doors built to your original Lucvaa specification, which often gives a better result anyway. We don’t offer refinishing or refacing ourselves; it’s a specialized trade of its own. That said, we don’t like saying never. Call us and we’ll work out how to help.

Most mild, general-purpose kitchen cleaners are fine on Lucvaa cabinets, though tolerance varies by finish. Warm water with a little mild dish soap is the safe universal option across everything we build: painted MDF, TFL, laminate, veneer, thermofoil. What to keep away from your cabinets: ammonia-based glass cleaners, bleach, abrasive pads, magic-eraser sponges, and concentrated degreasers, especially on painted and stained surfaces. Trying something new? Test it somewhere hidden first, like the back of a base cabinet door.

Lucvaa doors and drawers run on BLUM hardware, which has adjustment screws built into the hinges and runners. Inside the warranty year, just call Customer Care at (416) 745-4100 and we’ll handle it as part of standard service. After that, most BLUM hinges adjust with a single Phillips screwdriver, using small screws on the hinge body that move the door in three directions: depth, height, and side to side. The Lucvaa YouTube channel has guided videos, and Customer Care can talk you through the specific hardware on your cabinets.

Wipe with a soft microfibre cloth, dry or barely damp, and always work with the grain rather than across it. Don’t soak the surface or let water sit, particularly around edges and joints. Direct sunlight will gradually shift the colour of stained wood over the years, so window treatments are worth considering in a kitchen with strong exposure. One thing you don’t need: sealers or polishes. Unless you’ve asked for something different, Lucvaa paint and stain finishes are two-step catalyzed, meaning the top coat hardens through a chemical reaction, so the maintenance products sold for DIY paint and stain aren’t necessary here.

A soft microfibre cloth, warm water, and a small amount of mild dish soap is all Lucvaa painted MDF needs. Wipe, then dry right away with a second cloth so moisture doesn’t work its way into edges and joints. Stay away from abrasive sponges, ammonia-based cleaners, glass cleaners containing alcohol, and anything labelled a degreaser or containing solvents. Those dull and damage a painted finish over time, and the damage is cumulative rather than obvious after a single use.

Call Lucvaa Customer Care at (416) 745-4100 and ask for a touch-up kit matched to your project’s finish. For painted MDF that’s matched paint and instructions; for stained wood, matched stain or fill sticks. For anything larger, such as a damaged door panel or a visible drawer front, a replacement usually looks better than a repair, and Customer Care can arrange one against your original specification.

Keep these away from all Lucvaa cabinetry: abrasive scrubbing pads and magic-eraser sponges, bleach and bleach-based cleaners, ammonia-based glass or surface cleaners, alcohol-based cleaners, acetone, mineral spirits, paint thinners, and aggressive degreasers. They dull, etch, or strip cabinet finishes, and painted MDF and stained wood are the most vulnerable. Also worth avoiding: leaving a wet cloth on a horizontal surface, or letting water pool on a door top where it can work into the seams.

TFL (thermally fused laminate) and HPL (high-pressure laminate) are the most forgiving surfaces Lucvaa makes. Warm water, mild dish soap, a soft cloth for the daily wipe-down, then dry with a second cloth. For cooking splatter that’s baked on, a non-abrasive multi-surface spray is safe. Avoid scouring pads, metal scrapers, and anything formulated for stainless steel or stone, because those are designed to cut through harder surfaces and will scratch laminate.
