Frequently Asked Questions

Can I see samples and finishes before I commit to a design?

Yes. Our Etobicoke showroom displays the full material, finish, and hardware range on live cabinetry. Custom colours are produced as required for sign-off prior finalizing the design

Yes. Many clients begin with a kitchen and return for bathrooms, closets, or built-ins once the kitchen is installed. Your project file and finish selections are retained, so additional rooms can match seamlessly.

Yes. We regularly start our design from third-party architectural and design drawings, working directly with your design team to translate the intent into manufacturable cabinetry. Our team reviews every set for production feasibility before quoting.

Minor adjustments are sometimes possible before production begins, but once manufacturing starts, changes become difficult or will incur additional costs. This is why the sign-off stage is thorough and nothing goes to production until you’re fully confident.

Our consultations are free-of-charge. We will meet with you at the showroom, visit your project site, and produce samples as needed, but the actual designs are not shared electronically until the order is placed. There is an optional drawings deposit which serves as a retainer. This is optional.

No. Lucvaa has in-house designers who handle the full design process, from concept through renderings to production-ready drawings. If you already work with a designer or architect, we can collaborate with them and provide our expertise.

Yes. Every Lucvaa project includes full 3D renderings and elevation drawings so you can see your cabinetry in context before production begins. Renderings are revised with you until the design is approved.

Lucvaa designs and manufactures the full residential cabinetry range: kitchens, bathrooms, walk-in closets, home offices, laundry rooms, mudrooms, entertainment walls, and built-ins. Many projects combine multiple rooms into a single package.

Every custom cabinetry project moves through five stages: discovery consultation, space measurement, design development with 3D renderings, material and finish selection, and a final signed-off quote, which includes a final measurement. With each project being different, residential projects can complete this process anywhere between 3 to 6 weeks from first call to production sign-off.

Most Lucvaa custom cabinetry designs take 3 to 6 weeks from the first consultation to a signed-off final design. Complex renovations, heritage homes, or multi-room packages may extend this timeline to 6 to 12 weeks.

Design revisions are included as part of the standard process. We continue refining until you’re confident in the final plan. We try not to make changes once a design is finalized and the order placed, but things happen and we get it.

The first consultation is a discovery conversation. We review your space, understand how you want to use it, discuss scope, budget, and timeline, and walk you through the Lucvaa process. Showroom consultations also include a hands-on tour of materials, finishes, and working custom cabinetry hardware. If you have time, we take you through our factory so you can see how we will make your cabinetry.

Are Lucvaa cabinets made with solid wood or engineered materials?

Lucvaa custom cabinetry is built from engineered wood materials, which outperform solid wood for dimensional stability in modern homes with variable humidity. Solid wood is available for specific door profiles and finishes where the look and feel is the priority.

Lucvaa sources materials from suppliers that meet North American emissions and environmental standards, including CARB-compliant substrates. Specific certifications for your project can be confirmed during design.

Lucvaa avoids materials that don’t meet our durability or emissions standards, including certain low-grade substrates and non-compliant finishes. We’ll always recommend alternatives when something in your spec isn’t the right fit for long-term performance.

In most cases, yes. Our painted MDF program accommodates custom colour matching to Benjamin Moore, Sherwin Williams, and Farrow & Ball palettes, and our finish library includes hundreds of factory-standard options. For stains, we can match any other cabinetry shop or random sample, as long as we have a physical sample to match.

Yes. Lucvaa custom cabinetry is covered by a one-year warranty on materials and workmanship with full warranty terms are provided with your project documentation and depend on material and application.

Lucvaa offers TFL (thermally fused laminate), high-pressure laminate, painted MDF, stained veneer, thermofoil, and premium slab materials for cabinet doors. Custom door profiles and specialty materials can be quoted per project.

Lucvaa custom cabinetry is built from engineered wood substrates such as particleboard and plywood, with options including TFL, high-pressure laminate, painted MDF, and stained veneer for doors and panels. Every material is selected for specific performance in its application.

Plywood uses layered wood veneers for strength and moisture resistance and particleboard is a cost-effective engineered substrate with excellent dimensional stability. Each material has applications where it outperforms the others. Lucvaa has completed thousands of projects with particleboard and plywood. Both are durable, high quality and the best-of-the-best.

TFLs can resist scratches, moisture, and daily wear better than painted and stained surfaces. Painted finishes are available where the look is preferred; we’ll walk you through the trade-offs.

For high-moisture areas like bathrooms, laundry rooms, and lakeside cottages, Lucvaa recommends plywood cabinet boxes with solid wood doors. Our team specifies the right substrate for each application during design.

Where are Lucvaa cabinets manufactured?

Every Lucvaa custom cabinet is manufactured in Canada at our Etobicoke, Ontario facility at 31 Racine Road. We don’t outsource production, drop-ship from offshore factories, or rebrand third-party cabinets. Every project is built on our own production line by our own team.

Yes. Lucvaa is a Canadian-owned and Canadian-operated custom cabinetry manufacturer, headquartered and producing in Etobicoke, Ontario since 2007. All design, manufacturing, and project management happens from our Ontario facility.

Lucvaa sources globally and builds locally: substrates from Canadian and North American mills, premium hardware from European manufacturers including BLUM (Austria), and budget-friendly options through Canadian distributors like Richelieu, Marathon, and Berenson, including drawer slides (King Slide, Accuride), hinges, accessories (EuroFit), and decorative handles, pulls, and knobs. The cabinetry itself is designed, cut, assembled, and finished in Canada.

Each region produces specific strengths in different categories: Canada and North America for substrates and panels, Europe for cabinet hardware (where BLUM and similar manufacturers set the global standard), and Asia for budget-friendly hardware alternatives and decorative components that let us offer accessible price points without compromising the build. Sourcing globally and manufacturing locally gives clients the best component for every part of the project.

Yes. Lucvaa is a longtime BLUM partner and uses BLUM hinges, drawer systems, and lift mechanisms, manufactured in Austria, across our standard and premium hardware packages. European hardware is a deliberate choice: BLUM and similar brands set the durability and engineering standard the rest of the industry benchmarks against.

Lucvaa custom cabinets are made in Canada. Our raw materials and hardware are sourced internationally: Canadian and North American substrates, European premium hardware, and Asian budget hardware sourced through Canadian distributors. The components are assembled into finished cabinetry at our Etobicoke manufacturing facility.

Yes. All Lucvaa custom cabinetry is designed, manufactured, finished, and project-managed from our Etobicoke, Ontario facility. The components we import are selected because they outperform or complement domestic alternatives in specific categories, but the cabinetry itself is built in Canada.

Manufacturing in Canada gives Lucvaa direct control over lead times. Typical residential projects ship in 6 to 8 weeks of production rather than the 12 to 20+ weeks common for fully imported cabinetry. We also avoid the ocean freight delays, port congestion, and customs complications that affect overseas-built products.

Quality depends on the specific manufacturer and components, not the country alone. Lucvaa pairs Canadian manufacturing standards with European hardware and quality-graded substrates from leading mills, which produces a cabinet that competes with the best of any market, and stays accountable to Canadian warranty and service standards.

Lucvaa monitors cross-border trade conditions closely and works with US dealers to manage any tariff exposure transparently. Our US dealer pricing reflects current trade conditions, and our manufacturing flexibility lets us adapt sourcing and logistics if conditions change, which is one of the reasons US dealers choose a Canadian manufacturer with established cross-border experience over an offshore alternative.

Are LED lights standard or an upgrade?

LED under-cabinet, in-cabinet, and toe-kick lighting are specification upgrades rather than standard inclusions. Lighting is typically designed into the project at the early stages.

Yes. Lucvaa designs extensively for Toronto condos and small-footprint kitchens, with specialized accessories including full-height pull-out pantries, integrated appliance panels, dual-purpose island storage, and compact corner systems.

Yes. Pull-out pantries and tall-cabinet systems are available at Lucvaa in multiple configurations including full-height pull-outs, larder units, and integrated broom and appliance cabinets.

Yes. Lucvaa uses BLUM hinges, drawer systems, and lift mechanisms across our standard and premium hardware packages. BLUM upgrade tiers are available for clients who want specific premium systems.

Accessory costs vary widely depending on scope, from modest additions like LED lighting to substantial upgrades like full organizer packages. Your designer itemizes every accessory in your quote so you can see exactly what each one contributes.

Lucvaa supports the full range of corner storage including Lazy Susans, LeMans swing-out systems, Magic Corner pull-outs, and blind-corner drawer systems. Your designer recommends the right solution for your layout.

Lucvaa offers a full range of hardware and accessory upgrades including pull-out pantries, corner storage solutions, LED lighting, drawer organizers, pull-out waste and recycling systems, and integrated appliance panels. Your designer will walk you through options during specification.

Soft-close hardware uses hydraulic dampers to prevent doors and drawers from slamming, which extends cabinet life and reduces noise. Soft-close is standard on all Lucvaa cabinetry, not an upgrade.

Lucvaa offers pull-out spice racks, tray dividers, cutlery organizers, deep-drawer pot systems, appliance garages, and custom-sized drawer inserts. Most organizers can be specified as part of the design or added later.

Lucvaa offers multi-bin pull-out waste and recycling systems in several configurations, including dual-bin, triple-bin, and quad-bin systems. We even have automatic opening systems when you need touch-free access.

Do I need to be home during delivery and installation?

You don’t need to be home for the full duration, but we recommend being present for the delivery walk-through and the installation kick-off. Our Customer Care team will confirm scheduling and access requirements in advance.

Lucvaa handles installation directly within the Greater Toronto Area, Niagara, and Hamilton. For projects outside this core region, installation is coordinated through our partner installer network or with your own contractor.

Lucvaa does not offer cabinetry removal or disposal services. We have found General Contractors offer that service already and homeowners can easily sell their old kitchens or cabientry via third-party marketplaces.

Most residential custom cabinetry installations take 3 to 5 days on site, depending on scope and site conditions. Full-home packages with multiple rooms typically run 7 to 14 days.

Lucvaa custom cabinetry is covered by a warranty on materials and workmanship, with specific terms provided in your project documentation. Installation issues are resolved directly by our service team.

Cabinets arrive on a scheduled truck, are unloaded and staged in an agreed location on site, and are inspected before installation begins. Delivery is typically a half-day process for most residential projects. Larger projects with more rooms can be schedule to deliver all in one day or split throughout multiple days.

This is rare because Lucvaa uses detailed site measurements and production drawings, but when it happens we resolve it directly: remake, modify, or adjust the installation. We will attempt to remedy the issue during install. If required we will schedule the service call for another day within 1-2 weeks to complete the installation of the remade products.

Every cabinet is inspected at delivery and again before installation. Any damage is documented immediately and replacement components are manufactured and shipped on an expedited schedule. Project timelines include buffer for these cases and our Customer Care team keep constant contact with our Delivery and Installation teams.

Typical end-to-end timelines run 6 to 10 weeks for projects in Ontario and 8 to 10 weeks for US-destined orders, including manufacturing, delivery, and installation. Project complexity and site readiness can shift these windows.

Your project manager or general contractor coordinates cabinet delivery and installation with your other trades, ensuring the countertop template, plumbing rough-ins, and electrical are sequenced correctly. We work with through your contractor or project manager.

Does Lucvaa offer financing or payment plans?

Financing and payment plan options are discussed directly with your project consultant during the quoting stage. Arrangements vary by project and client preference.

Every Lucvaa project is priced individually because cost depends on layout, size, materials, finishes, hardware, and accessories. No two projects are the same. Your consultation includes a budget discussion up front so the design stays aligned with what you want to invest. Lucvaa is also developing an online estimation tool to make this easier to gauge on your own.

Price is driven by kitchen size and layout, material and finish choices, hardware package, accessory upgrades, integrated appliance panels, and installation scope. Your designer breaks each of these out in your itemized quote so you can see where the budget is going.

Payment for Lucvaa projects are structured with a production deposit at order confirmation and a final payment upon delivery. The optional drawing deposit or design retainer is a non-refundable credit on the order, which is credited on the production deposit when placing the order.

Can Lucvaa build to our architect's specifications or provide its own designs?

Both. Lucvaa routinely builds to architect or interior designer specifications for multi-residential projects, and also offers in-house design if your team prefers to outsource the cabinetry design scope.

Yes. Phased developments are a routine part of our multi-res work, with production, delivery, and installation scheduled to match each phase’s construction timeline. We maintain spec consistency across phases so later buildings match earlier ones.

Lucvaa supplies the full in-suite custom cabinetry package for multi-residential projects: kitchens, bathroom vanities, walk-in and reach-in closets, laundry, and other built-ins. Supplying the full package through a single manufacturer simplifies procurement and ensures finish consistency across the suite.

Yes. Multi-residential and builder projects are a pillar of Lucvaa’s business model, with a dedicated multi-residential team handling developer specifications, procurement, and delivery/installation. We work with condo developers, low-rise builders, and custom-home builders across Ontario.

Our multi-res project managers coordinate directly with your general contractor on delivery scheduling, installation sequencing, and trade coordination. We align with your construction schedule rather than the other way around.

Builder and developer pricing is structured around project specifications unlike retail pricing including volume, standardized units, and phased production, all of which factor into quoting. Our multi-residential team works with your cost consultant or procurement lead to build accurate per-unit pricing.

Lucvaa has delivered custom cabinetry for condo towers, low-rise and mid-rise developments, townhouse communities, and custom-home builder projects. Unit volumes have ranged from 30-unit developments to 600-unit projects. No project is too small or big because our production adapts quickly to project needs and capacity fluctuations.

Multi-res lead times depend on unit complexity, specification finalization, and phasing, with typical windows running 12 to 20 weeks for production on mid-size projects once specs are signed off. Larger or phased projects are scheduled in production batches aligned with your construction timeline.

Lucvaa has delivered projects ranging from 30 units to 600 units per project. Our manufacturing capacity averages 50 to 100 kitchens per week and scales to meet developer schedules, and can increase to as much as 200 kitchens per week.

Does Lucvaa have a showroom outside Toronto?

Our only showroom is at 31 Racine Road in Etobicoke, Toronto. We have a showroom in Burlington, Ontario to service the Halton and Niagara region. Our dealer in Alliston, Ontario independently operates and owns the Lucvaa of South Simcoe showroom.

Lucvaa does not sell direct to US homeowners. In the US market, all sales go through partner dealer showrooms, which handle local design, sales, and installation.

Yes. Lucvaa serves Niagara, Hamilton, the 400 and 401 corridors, the Kawarthas, and Eastern Ontario including Peterborough, Kingston, and Ottawa. Installation is handled directly within our core GTA region and coordinated with partner installers or your contractor in outlying regions.

Lucvaa currently has dealers in New Jersey and Florida, with additional dealers being onboarded across the US East Coast. Contact Lucvaa directly and we’ll refer you to the nearest dealer or let you know when one becomes available in your region.

We have partners in all regions who can work directly with clients and samples will be couriered to customers as needed. In the case where a designer is not available in your region, we will conduct virtual meetings.

Lucvaa ships anywhere in Ontario from our Etobicoke manufacturing facility. Deliveries that are further than 200km from our Head Office are handled by our trusted partner delivery teams.

Freight to outlying regions is a predictable line item rather than a markup, usually a small fraction of total project cost. Many clients outside the GTA find the overall value comparable to or better than a local dealer sourcing from elsewhere.

Lucvaa delivers and installs custom cabinetry across all of Ontario, from Niagara through the Greater Toronto Area and along the 401 corridor to Ottawa. In the United States, Lucvaa products are sold through our dealer showrooms, currently in New Jersey and Florida.
